Often misspelled words

Lose – loose

  • lose – opposite of win
  • loose – not tight

Their – They’re – There

  • Their – it belongs to them
  • They’re – “they are”
  • There – not here, there

Your – You’re

  • Your – belongs to you
  • You’re – you are

Weather – Whether

  • Weather – snow, rain, sunshine…
  • Whether – deciding, evaluating: “I don’t know whether to kiss you or kick you right now.”

Then – Than

  • Then – used for time: “And then he came into the room.”
  • Than – used  for comparison: “This is much better than the other room.”
